Page Sandbox
Privacy Policy
Effective: September 29, 2026
This policy explains how the Page Sandbox Chrome extension ("the extension", "we") handles information.
In short: the extension does not collect, store, sell or share any personal data. Everything happens locally in your browser.
1. Information we collect
None. The extension has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no cookies and no remote servers. It makes no network requests of its own.
2. How the extension uses the page you're on
When, and only when, you click the extension's toolbar icon, the extension:
- scrolls through the current tab once and takes images of each screen of it (using Chrome's
captureVisibleTab, allowed by theactiveTabpermission), so the whole page can be turned into sand. These images are combined in memory, and your scroll position is restored afterwards; - reads the positions and styles of the page's visible text and images, as a fallback if the screenshot is unavailable.
This image and page information never leave your device. They are not saved to disk, not stored in browser storage and not sent anywhere. They are discarded when you close the sandbox (Esc or ✕) or leave the page.
3. Permissions and why they're needed
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
activeTab |
Gives temporary access to the tab you clicked the icon on, so the extension can capture images of that page and run there. It does not give access to other tabs or run in the background. |
scripting |
Injects the sandbox game into that tab after you click the icon. |
The extension does not request access to all websites, your browsing history, bookmarks, downloads, or any other browser data.
4. Data sharing and sale
We do not sell, rent, trade or transfer any user data to third parties. We do not use or transfer data for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose (turning the current page into a physics toy), and never for creditworthiness or lending purposes.
5. Remote code
All code ships inside the extension package. The extension does not download or execute remote code.
6. Children's privacy
Because the extension collects no personal information, it collects none from children either.
7. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
The use of information by this extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will also be noted in the extension's store listing.
9. Contact
